Figure 1: Dollhouse View of Saint John’s Episcopal Cathedral
This is the Dollhouse view of Saint John’s Episcopal Cathedral in Denver, CO. This view shows the relationship of the entire structure. A dollhouse view of the scans is a standard product with each project.
Figure 2: Floorplan of Saint John’s Episcopal Cathedral
This floorplan view is a standard product of each project. Detailed measurements can be taken off of these views, labels can be added to identify certain areas.
Figure 3: Saint John’s Episcopal Cathedral Digital Twin View
This view of the inside of the cathedral is called a digital twin view. This view allows a person to “walk through” the property as if they were actually there. The white circles on the floor are where the camera was placed when the scanning was being performed. In this view, as well as the other two, tags can be inserted to highlight certain items or areas. For instance, on each column is hanging a tapestry. These tapestries show the different stations of the cross. In the tag can be a close-up view of the tapestry along with a discussion of that station. Tags can also include videos.
Another feature of the Matterport 3D digital models is that selected images throughout the model can be put into a highlight reel. This allows the viewer to view the selected images as in a video. The highlight reel can also be converted to an actual video.
Tags and Labels
Imaging In 3D, LLC on one project was asked to highlight the fire extinguishers. The easiest way for doing it was to “tag” it. When you move a cursor over the tag, the tag shows the material associated with the tag. Here it says this is a fire extinguisher. All tags are visible in dollhouse, floorplan, and digital twin views. Labels and notes can be added to the dollhouse and floorplan views but not to the digital twin view.
